WHAT HAS THIS PLAYER NEVER NEEDED TO DO?
Observation
Youth football can give a player repeated opportunities to succeed in particular conditions while giving them relatively few opportunities to experience others.
Try Looking At
Look for the first senior situation that demands something the player has rarely had to practise: defending a lead, recovering after an error, playing with less time, or contributing without the ball.
Counterpoint
Physical maturation, coaching, pathway and ordinary differences in opposition may explain the transition without requiring a State-based explanation.
Doesn't Fit
A behaviour that hasn't appeared isn't necessarily a capability the player lacks.
Question
Could some development problems be problems of exposure to conditions rather than problems of talent?
